Positive Pilot

November has seen a successful pilot of the ‘Ward Observations and Real-time Feedback’ programme at North Tyneside General Hospital. This is part of the partnership with Northumbria Health Care Foundation Trust and their Shared Purpose Project who are working towards ‘Elder Friendly Wards’.
Age UK North Tyneside’s Director of Health and Wellbeing Sandra Grey and our Hospital to Home Manager Julie Dixon Patterson (as pictured above) successfully carried out the pilot which gave them clear insight in to how to proceed with further observations across North Tyneside General Hospital, Wansbeck General Hospital and Hexham General Hospital.
Julie was very pleased with the outcome of the observation and said “It was fantastic to feedback to staff about the great work they do and how to improve elderly patients experiences so they feel safe, valued and recognised”.
